good news for those who enjoy reading my skincare/makeup posts from ettusais, i had my contract renewed with them for year 2010 and will be bringing you more reviews, giveaways and workshops courtesy of the good people over at ettusais. (check out my new ettusais side link on the right for 2010 ambassadors)
the first item i would be reviewing this year would be a back to basics item, a cleanser. like i always say, the best foundation one can achieve is when you have good skin - the perfect canvas for makeup. the most number of questions i have from readers the past year is " how to combat oily skin?"
sunny singapore's humid weather pretty much contributes to oily skin, which means you cannot change your skin type unless you do something drastic like migrate to a cooler climate. but what you can do is keep your skin clean and moisturised so that you dont breakout like no tomorrow, minimise the shine and pores on your face. open pores and oily skin go together hand in hand, magnifying each other’s problems like a dust on a sliver platter. why? the culprit to blame is unsaturated fatty acid, a component of sebum, which roughens the entrance to your pores when secreted, enlarging them over time. and once your pores are enlarged, you cannot shrink them anymore. so, to stop enlarged pores from taking over your face, ettusais has come up with a new addition to their family of skincare, the Pore Care Wash.

the cleanser is packed with cleansing ingredients that specifically target and gently remove unsaturated fatty acid, while moisturising and protecting the skin with their signature AC control oil to fight bacteria.

the cleansing liquid is creamy and smooth.

it is easily whipped into dense foam with some water.

like the texture, thick and dense foam cleanses your face better and glides on your face without any friction.

my skin is pretty darn sensitive and feels very tight if a harsh soap is used. i like how this leaves the skin refreshed and deep cleansed without any feeling of tightness.
to wrap up the basic cleansing routine, i use the skin version up to soften and prep the skin for the goodness of the aqua shooter moisturiser which i pat on last. remember, good skin starts with clean and well moisturised skin!

hey babe,do you mind charing like what exactly are the products you use for the basic skin care range?
recently, i bought the this pore care wash, i used for almost coming 3 weeks, but my face is peeling :( i got combination skin too, but the moisturizer kinda made my skin rather wet, then plus i put sun block, gosh, its like so oily! any advice?
hey, this is my basic skin care range:
1) pore care wash
2) version up
3) aqua shooter
hmm, did you make sure you lather the liquid to thick dense foam before using it? you should never apply the cleansing liquid onto your face as it might be too harsh. also its advisable not to wash your face excessively, about twice a day is okay. if you did and you are certain its the pore care wash causing your skin to peel, perhaps you are not suitable for it and you should stop using it.
you must remember to pat in the moisturiser in your skin and not just spread it over, press it gently over your skin for better absorption. your skin should feel dewy and moist, it is normal, but not wet.
anything with sunblock usually feels oily tbh. are you using the whitening make up base? the oil block one in my opinion isnt too oily as compared to some. maybe you can try that, if not you can blot after applying your sunblock before you make up. i do that sometimes too. hope this helps! (:
